Music Club: Mia new album & Nylon cover

MIA maybe more famous for stealing headlines than shows (recent video for Born Free sparked mass controversy, first praised, then villified and banned from YouTube), but with a new album, focus and determined approach the elder lady of electro has bagged the cover of Nylon magazine.

Foam magazine May issue out now & online

The new issue of US style and surf bible Foam is out now, both in stateside newsagents and online for free - with three times world champion surfer Stephanie Gilmore on the cover.

In addition to an in depth and revealing interview plus feirce photoshoot with Australia's surf darling, the May edition is a swimwear special - from 50s demureness, to neoprene's new affair with fashion, via the skimpy and striking. There's an interview with designer and NY surfer Cynthia Rowley, teens sailing solo, couture surfboards, Mara Hoffman's dreamy home, interviews with the latest in music Ke$ha, She&Him and Surfers Blood, plus much more.

Andria Lessler & Tiffany Campbell on female surf film Dear & Yonder

It may have been released in 2009, but beautiful female surf documentary Dear & Yonder, by Andria Lessler and Tiffany Campbell is still a cult flick. A stunning, cinematographic story examining what it means to be a female surfer, and how empowering it's always been, the film is artsy and inspiring, with stunning footage of Kassia Meador, Sally Fitzgibbons, Liz Clark, Prue Jeffires and more.

So, to encourage more of us to buy the film Surf Line have posted a behind the scenes interview with film makers Andria Lessler and Tiffany Campbell on their debut surf movie project, plus some stunning shots. Hear the whole interview and see the full gorgeous gallery here.

An essential for anyone with a vague interest in women's surfing, you can also buy the DVD online from Molllusk surf shop in the US and Magic Seaweed in the UK and Europe.

post Vancouver: Torah Bright on her Olympic gold

You're probably hyper aware that Roxy's perma-happy, super talented Aussie snowboarder Torah Bright won gold in the Women's Halfpipe at the Vancouver Winter Olympics last week. However, not all of us were able to catch it live. And while Shaun White and the Men's pipe contest is all over TV, the women's, although no less exciting, is less so...

But don't fret: after some careful hunting I've managed to track down a tonne of interviews with the Roxy star - unsurprisingly, most from Australia.

Snowboarder Leanne Pelosi interviews on Fuel, Transworld & more

After her company, Runway Films, garnered huge acclaim for their all-female snowboard film See What I See last winter Leanne Pelosi took a break from filming to concentrate on actually riding - really stepping things up nabbing a part with prestigious Tahoe-based film crew Standard Films.

A huge achievement already (only legends Janna Mayen and Tara Dakides have filmed with them previously), the K2 / Bonfire / Monster and more sponsored pro's filming schedule was then unfortunately cut short due to injury. But, that's not stopped 'Party' Pelosi raking in the column inches - as there are now interviews with her everywhere, from Transworld Snow to Method Europe, Fuel TV to random aussie websites...
