Forget Blue Crush - First Love is the real story of three surfer girls and their collective challenge on turning their all-consuming passion for surfing into a full blown career.

A gorgeous documentary backed by Rip Curl, First Love is the story of a trio of Australian teens, who live within ten minutes of each other on Phillip Island in Victoria. The three friends may have different characters, backgrounds and goals, but all share one same focus: making surfing their life - and the ASP Women's World Tour finals in Hawaii.

Peepshow Emo good times in Alaska video

The Peepshow snowboard film crew have had a sweetly productive season, shooting right across the US and Canada, their latest being a trip to the city of Homer, Alaska in April. Desiree Melancon, Jonas and Terra Michilot, Este, Gus and more made up the crew - scouting for spots, hiking and building features across the AK urban and backcountry landscape.

Andria Lessler & Tiffany Campbell on female surf film Dear & Yonder

It may have been released in 2009, but beautiful female surf documentary Dear & Yonder, by Andria Lessler and Tiffany Campbell is still a cult flick. A stunning, cinematographic story examining what it means to be a female surfer, and how empowering it's always been, the film is artsy and inspiring, with stunning footage of Kassia Meador, Sally Fitzgibbons, Liz Clark, Prue Jeffires and more. 

So, to encourage more of us to buy the film Surf Line have posted a behind the scenes interview with film makers Andria Lessler and Tiffany Campbell on their debut surf movie project, plus some stunning shots. Hear the whole interview and see the full gorgeous gallery here

An essential for anyone with a vague interest in women's surfing, you can also buy the DVD online from Molllusk surf shop in the US and Magic Seaweed in the UK and Europe.

UK all female skate film As If, And What? global media takeover!

I've rabbited on excitedly about As If, And What? on nollie - the first european all-female skate film from Rogue Skateboards founder Jenna Selby - tonnes, but it looks like the circle of love for her project has been growing.

Firstly, Sidewalk magazine has given the film a whopping four page feature (see above) in the current issue - a huge piece of coverage for a female focused film in a core skate mag, which is pretty ground breaking and inspiring. 

Created by Lisa Whitaker of Villa Villa Cola - one of the inspirations behind As If, And What? - TheSideProject.com has also been showing some love, posting both a gallery from the Rogue team's Prague trip as well as regular news items on the movie.
