InvisibleChildrenBillabong.jpg

The most glamourous event in surf is back on June 10 to raise more money for charity: Design For Humanity is Billabong's charitable initiative, with an annual one-evening music, art, fashion extravaganza as it's climax - all to raise money for Invisible Children, an organisation rebuilding war-torn Northern Uganda.

Paramount Studios, Hollywood is this year's venue with electro legends Fischerspooner bringing their light and music experience to the mainstage, then electro-house-hip hop from Chicago's Kid Sister on stage two, wrapping up with aural entertainment from DJ Mark Moreno, Pase Rock, Them Jeans and Classixx at the post-show party.

League Of Extraordinary Dancers will also be performing, there'll be Hit+Run live t-shirt screen printing, a one of a kind bikini catwalk show, art exhibitions and loads more.

music_club_quiksilver_sponsored_devon_surfer_ben_howard copy.jpg

Ever been to a gig of someone you've never listened to, with no expectations, then been completely spell bound, so you get spine tingles, hairs standing on end and goosebumps? Ben Howard's gorgeous acoustic poetry has that power, as I witnessed after seeing him live.

Born in Middelsex, London, Ben moved to the South Coast city of Falmouth, Devon, in his teens where he developed his surfing talent as well as phenomenal musical ability. Sponsored by Quiksilver, he's performed his beautiful tunes at contests and festivals across Europe - and is now hitting the road again to support Xavier Rudd in February.
