Roxy_JBL_earphones_collaboration_headphones.jpg

They've been dabbling their fingers in music for a while now, but now Roxy have confirmed their love for good tunes - by releasing a limited edition series of inner-ear and big, bling, outer headphones with JBL. Available now in super bright, acid colours, they've also released a free, work out mix tape - to celebrate both the headphones and this season's brand new Athletix work out collection.

NOW ON: London Freeze music & snowsports festival

freesports_on_4_London_Freeze_event_music_snowboard_battersea.jpg

The UK's biggest snowsports and music festival is back for 2009, as Freeze returns to London's Battersea Power Station from today until Sunday November 1. In it's second year, the 2009 event once more hosts a stop of the LG Snowboard FIS World Cup, and International Freeski competition, as well as the snowboard-only Battle Of Britain today. Each evening then continues with a massive music line up, in addition to the apres bars, parties and retail village set up to give Battersea it's own mini ski resort - kicking off the evening with the TUACA Off-Piste DJ battle at the Canadian alcohol brand's own bar, as three snowboarder-cum-turntablists tussle it out for the best tunes.

Monday Music Club: The Phenomenal Handclap Band

The_Phenomenal_handclap_band_disapear_Music_club_15_20_new_york.jpg

Not sure how I could have missed them when they played London earlier this month, but The Phenomenal Handclap Band are being hailed in knowing circles as this year's biggest musical secret.

Almost ten members strong on stage, they manage to combine the best elements of the last fifty years, but still sound utterly original: picking from Brazilian soul to vintage psych-rock, prog, disco and electro, their sound is both anthemic, orchestral and demands you on the dance floor.

If you've missed Le Tigre, but like your fem-pop a little bit more 'ooh-la-la', prepare to fall for Koko Von Nappo

A three-quarters female Parisian quartet, the band are Toupie, Renarde, Kokoboy and Kiddo and have released a few singles on Trouble Records in the UK - which has charmed the UK's taste makers, including Dazed & Confused and the NME, leading them to take temporary resident in the capital.

Music Club: Yeah Yeah Yeah's back with It's Blitz - early release due to leak

Yeah_yeah_yeahs_karen_o_its_blitz_zero

After quite a long time away Karen O and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs return with new album It's Blitz - which will be released early on March 10 due to an online leak. The new record, produced by Dave Sitek and Nick Launary was supposed to be sold from April 13 in the UK and April 14 in the US - but cheeky internet scamps posted new songs were on download sites early.

"The cat's out of the bag after IT'S BLITZ! escaped from our clutches into the big bad world last week. Why should some have and some have-not?" they said on a YeahYeahYeahs.com blog post.

(belated) Monday Music Club: La Roux

Monday Music Club: british eletro pop star singer La Roux - supporting Lily Allen on tour around the UK now

Ok: so she's a girl. She plays synths. Has a penchant for 80s pop. And is another songwriter siren hyped for 2009. But there's more to La Roux than being the latest on the Little Boots Production Line. This 20-year old Brixton, London local has the same manager as the Klaxons and creates heartfelt-tales that soundtrack her life - unlike alien all encompassing songs of LB. Signed to Kitsune records she's like Gwen Stefani meets Softcell / A-Ha / the Human League but with a female-fronted warmth. Tasty.

Watch her two latest videos for In For The Kill, out March 2, and Quicksand, out now, after the jump...
