Discount off Rubicon Skate camps

Lynz_adams_hawkins

Those very kind people at Rubicon Skateboards have given Nollie an exclusive discount for their upcoming residential Skate camps - as they, like us, want to encourage more girls in the UK to get into skating.

To blag yourself a £50 discount off the camps - from April 14th to 18th, and August 11th to 15th, and 18th to 22nd, based near Coventry, you'll have to quote our exclusive discount - as organised by the lovely Greg.

Photo: Get practising and you could get as skilled on a skateboard as Lyn Z Adams... maybe.

Video review: Original Skateboards Path 37 Longboard

Let me tell you, this board is amazing. Everyone who steps on it wants one - even my mum was taken by it and had to be coaxed off so I could have another go. I even have a long list of people who regularly try to nab it off me - it's that good. If you're into snowboarding or surfing you should try one of these out...

Review: C Skins Wired Womens Wetsuit

C_skins_wired_girls

This wetsuit is the bomb. It'll keep you super warm all throughout the British winter, and thanks to the clever entry system and the lack of a back zip, they'll be no nasty flushes. But thanks to that same entry system,  boy is this a bitch to get in and out of. I've been assured that it gets easier with time, and I have to admit it is becoming a tiny bit easier each time I use it, but still, you will be the one doing a stupid why-won't-this-thing-come-off-my-shoulders dance in the car park in this wettie.

In terms of features, it has everything you would expect from a top end steamer - 100% super stretch neoprene, super fancy glued, blindstitched, liquid sealed no-water-can-pass-them seams, and extra warm furry wind-proof panels. And it works. I can stay in the sea for hours longer than I could before, and I hardly even get wet underneath this bad boy. But I do have one gripe...

Review: Overboard waterproof cases

When doing watersports it's usually best to leave your electronic devices on dry land, but OverBoard have designed a range of cases to allow you to take your mp3 player surfing or your camera wakeboarding, should you so desire. Although dropping my camera in a lake is against my natural instincts, we put them through a thorough test and they actually are watertight...

Snowboarding flim review: In Short

Video: Behind the scenes of In Short at Halifax Dry Slope

In Short is the latest offering from David Benedek’s Blank Paper Studios and takes the alternative route of a series of 5 short films, similar to the approach taken by Chunkyknit last year with Last Winter.

Having just seen the very funny and all-round brilliant Terminal Ferocity no less than 10 minutes before at the Bristol stop of the Unleash the Lens tour, my expectations were high. And to be honest I felt slightly disappointed...

Review: Float: An all female snowboard film

Float_header

After much scrabbling around for a copy of Onboard, I finally got my hands on one on Friday and settled down to a long-awaited viewing of Float...

Overall impressions? I loved it. The film was beautifully done, with quality filming and slick editing, and I liked the travel section format rather than rider parts. The riding itself was great, with Silvia Mittermuller pulling off the first female 900 on film and plenty of the other members of the cast stepping things up for the girls...
