Female snowboard photographer Vanessa Andrieux launches new site

Vicci Miller in the Arlberg taken by snowboard photographer Vanessa Andrieux
One of the simple truths of working behind the scenes in the snowboard industry is that, unlike female pro riders, you're judged on your work before your gender. Like in the music industry, this means that women can find success as writers and photographers on a par with guys - i.e with out gender discrimination (if the wages for photographers differed due to gender there'd be uproar - but in pro snowboarding? Women still put up with lower wages than male team mates.)

Pro surfers swim with Dolphins at the Billabong Pro Maui

Billabong Pro Maui: pros go Swimming with Dolphins and explore the coral reef

The final event of the ASP world tour 2008, the Billabong Pro Maui and part three of the Vans Triple Crown, was plagued with flat surf at Honalulu Bay throughout it's 10 day holding period - but wrapped up yesterday after relocating (more on that later). So, with nowt to do but chill and train the gathered circus of pros got creative in the spare time; while 2007 Men's ASP World Tour Champ Mick Fanning got a new tattoo, on Day 9 the ladies did something slightly more serene: swimming with dolphins and exploring the deep sea coral reefs of Maui.

Check out the gorgeous photos after the jump...

Uniquely by Oakley; behind the scenes gallery

Uniquely_oakley_banner_film_girls

Out now for free with Cooler magazine in Europe, and Foam in the states, Uniquely is the only all-women action film to include surfing, skating, snowboarding, skiing and wakeboarding. After singing it's praises for months we watched the film and it's incredible: John Roderick of Neu Productions and Oakley have set a new bench mark which is gonna be tough to beat. Inspiring and epic it's a must see for any one - male of female - with even a whiff of interest in action sports. Honestly.

So to give you a sneak peek of what to expect check out our gallery of screen shots after the jump...
