wake: Board Housewives event report on Alliance

In a bid to end the sausage fest that is the UK wakeboard cable scene, Steph Caller and Liu Batchelor had a stroke of genius: to start the girl's only Board Housewives tour. An epic success, the three day three stop tour spread a bit of girl shaped fun and style to three of the UK's cable lakes: Princes, WakeMK and Sheffield, as Liu reports on Alliance Wakeboard:
The First stop was to be Princes. Sunglasses and shorties were in order as the sun was out! Everyone had the buzz; girls were throwing themselves in all directions! We stopped and had Nick Davies, Jonty Green and the all boys to watch for lunch, which was sick. Refuelled and inspired, we hit the water again with varying degrees of success. Sarah Kingdom was so close to glory, just stacking the Holy Grail that is the raley!

Video and interview with Wakesurfer Bri Chmel on Cooler

With wakeboarding now a mainstream sport, and wakeskating not far behind, the lake side innovators are turning their attentions and creative skills to a brand new water activity: Wakesurfing. And at 24, Bri Chmel is leading the way for the ladies - going from an amateur to World Wakesurfing Champ in one year.
Cooler magazine have managed to pin down the Washington, Oregon and Florida hopping nomad, to find a bit more about wakesurfing, and exactly what it takes to become a World Champ via and exclusive interview. Keep reading to see a video of Bri - demonstrating exactly how you ride a wake minus bindings and rope tow... impressive!

Wakestock update: Vans Pool Gap returns plus new bands

Nollie already said that this year's Relentless Wakestock is set to be an awesome weekend - at the rather royal location of Blenheim Palace, on June 27 - 29, and Abersoch July 2 - 6, the Vans Pool Gap has just confirmed it's return to the wakeboard festival as part of the Vans Rococo Rail tour. Plus loads more bands have been added to the expanding music bill!
The Vans Pool Gap is basically a top pool and a pully system that launches the riders forward towards on to two straight down rails and a gap rail, where they can show off their trick skills. It's a massive construction holding 200,000 gallons of water and is truly is a spectacular event to watch. There will also be a Wake Skate comp: imagine skateboarding on water, aka wakeboarding without bindings with just trainers - but taken to a whole new level.
